From a grandfather's birthday photograph to a coffee brand with a coffee-growing soul.

The project
Dams Café was born from a family story: three generations growing 100% Arabica coffee in Olancho, Honduras, at over 1,200 masl, with a medium roast and washed process. The challenge was not to invent a brand from scratch, but to translate that heritage—the grandfather, the farm, the Olanchan coffee tradition—into a contemporary visual system. Before our intervention, the communication was generic: packaging with no seal, no face, no origin. The story that gave meaning to the product was nowhere to be found.
We made the family's grandfather the heart of the identity. Starting from an actual photograph of him—his serene gaze, his glasses, his mustache, his typical Olancho palm hat—we illustrated a gold line-art portrait that became the brand's seal: a guarantee of origin, craftsmanship, and a promise kept. The Dams Café logo was built around this portrait, accompanied by the Olanchan hat, a crown of steam, and serif lettering with classic finishes. We applied the system to two packaging versions: a black bag (roasted bean) and a white bag (ground), both featuring a map of Honduras made of coffee beans, a clear hierarchy (roast, process, altitude, net weight, health license HN-LEA-0625-0187, Olancho region of origin), and a side contact block with a QR code to cafedams.com. The back features a watercolor illustration of the coffee farmer walking through the estate, closing the narrative circle: from field to cup.

Result
Today, every bag tells the same story: the grandfather's portrait on the seal, the Olanchano hat as a regional nod, the map of Honduras drawn in coffee beans, and the farm painted on the back. Dams Café went from being generic packaging to an object with a memory —the grandfather's coffee, now in kitchens in Honduras and Spain via cafedams.com.
A side-by-side look at the change: from the starting point to the final system applied.
